"But
as for me, my feet had
almost slipped; I had
nearly lost my foothold."
(Psalm 73:2)
DON'T
GO THERE
As
we approached the green
on the 5th hole we saw
one of the course Marshalls
pointing to our ball.
It was one of those
holes with a dog leg
right and the hole was
in a gulley. All of
the sudden the Marshall
disappeared down the
hill and we caught sight
of him trying to remain
upright as he ran down
the hill. "He's
out of control!: one
in our group exclaimed.
Sure enough he made
it down and started
the long hike back up
somewhat embarrassed.
As we passed him we
asked him what he was
doing. "I realized
as I started down that
I shouldn't have gone
there but there was
not stopping me once
I started," he
commented.
What
a revelation. Sin is
such a slippery slope,
once we head down that
road the going gets
slicker and before you
know it you're out of
control with no way
to turn back until you
hit bottom.
Best
bet is to not go there
in the first place.
Go to a quiet place,
rant before God if you
have to and let Him
work it out in you to
do the right thing so
He will be glorified
and you will live at
peace with Him.
The
psalmist in Psalm 73
tells a great story
of his trouble with
sin then turning back
to a gracious God to
receive forgiveness
and mercy and grace.
Rejoice
in the Lord Always!
