"Now
the Lord said to Samuel,
'How long will you mourn
for Saul, seeing I have
rejected him from reigning
over Israel.
Fill
your horn with oil,
and go, I am sending
you to Jesse the Bethlehemite.
For I have provided
for Myself a king among
his sons'.
And Samuel said, 'How
can I go? If Saul hears
it, he will kill me.'
But the Lord
said, 'Take a heifer
with you, and say, 'I
have come to sacrifice
to the Lord'.'"
(1 Samuel 16:1-2)
I
KNOW WHAT YOU SAID BUT...
When
the Lord sends you He's
already prepared the
way. He has seen all
the obstacles, anticipated
all the problems...it
is a done deal!
All
it requires from us
is faith - faith not
in ourselves, or our
circumstances, or our
bank account, but faith
in the Lord God Almighty.
God
clearly told Samuel
what to do - Stop mourning
for Saul, get your jar
of anointing oil and
go to the family of
Jesse whom I will show
you who I have chosen
to become Israel's next
king.
Samuel
and my response was,
"But Saul will
hear", or "If
I tell them that God
loves them they will
reject me!" or
"What if they won't
listen?" or "My
money won't make a difference,
that person has lived
on the streets for years."
You
will notice a "BUT"
on God's part in today's
Scripture.."BUT
the Lord said, 'take
a heifer with you.'
.It may seem He wasn't
listening to Samuel's
concerns but on the
contrary He didn't skip
a beat in His plan to
build Samuel's confidence
in Him.
It
was like He was saying,
"Go, I've got it
all under control, I
love you, I won't forsake
you, just trust me,
I don't lie and I have
a great plan for you,
one specifically designed
by Me tailor made for
you."
God
has a plan for you my
friend, a plan drafted
in love, a plan devised
before the creation
of the world. You're
name is in the Title
- You are the main character
- You are in the credits
of a love story, written,
produced, directed and
starred in by God.
