April 23 , 2010 - Locked, But The Door Was Open

"Don't go to bed angry. Don't give the Devil that kind of foothold in your life."
( Ephesians 4:27)

LOCKED BUT THE DOOR WAS OPEN

'I put all my valuables into the locker at the gym (like my underwear and dirty socks), put my lock through and clicked the lock shut. Something didn't look quite right though and it took 10 seconds or so for me to realize I had left the door open which is as dumb as a temporary employee we had who had locked the car door but left the window down because couldn't figure out how to lock the door from the inside.

God says we leave a small crack open in our hearts and mind when we harbor anger. We give the devil a foothold that he uses to work our minds, he whispers in our ear that we don't deserve to be treated the way were treated, that we deserve better, that we are right, they are wrong and they should pay.

But God says we should forgive as He forgives. If we hold onto anger we can't forgive, if we release the anger to God and forgive freely, we are released from a burden we were never meant to bear.

Catch and release my friend. DF

Rejoice in the Lord Always!
